put的本意是:to move something to a particular place or position, especially using your hands.即“放”、“放置”
1.人放物(物体、话语)
He put the coffee on the table. 他把咖啡放在桌上。
He put the proposal to his wife. 他向妻子提了那个建议。
2.人放人、物放人(仪式感、具身感知)
Don’t put yourself into a situation you can’t handle. 不要让自己陷入无法收拾的局面。
The long delay had put us all in a bad mood. 长时间的延误使我们大家心情都不好。
“拿得起,放得下”的“放”也是put,
比如:You got to put the past behind you before you can move on. 放下过去,轻装前行。
