What is MLM and how does it work?

【专有名词】MLM 全称为Multi-Level Marketing，中文译为多层次信息网络营销，据说是一种高级的宣传方式和营销方式，充分的体现和运用了“市场倍增”这一原理，即没有中间商的“直销”。但实际上在我们生活中遇到的这种，往往是本质上为“庞氏骗局”的非法传销，值得注意。

Well, two problems here.

First, you're not owning and running your own business.

What you're actually doing is paying a hefty 'start-up' fee in order to work as an unpaid salesman earning a tiny commission on each sale.

If you're the first guy, you might be able to recruit 10 other people (who will make a ton of money for the MLM, but very little for themselves).... but if you recruit 10 people, then each of them recruits 10 people, then they recruit 10 people....well, that's exponential growth.

That's why the other term for MLM's is a pyramid scheme.

Basically, you pay money to be able to sell a product, and while you can earn money by selling that product, you make more money by recruiting more people to pay money to be able to sell the product.
