“Paul, a servant of Jesus Christ, called to be an apostle, set apart for the gospel of God…” Rom1:1

Basically, the calling of God is not to let us become a Holy person, but he wants us to preach His gospel. More importantly, the gospel of God is the lasting truth. People’s kindness and holiness are not the truth, and the heaven and hell are not truth either, just only God’s salvation is the truth. Today, the servants of Christ must know the truth. As the Lord’s servants, we must understand the enlightenment that the salvation is only truth. The personal holiness is only effect, not cause. If our confidence relies on people’s kindness, when the devil gives us temptations, we shall not stand.

Paul didn’t say that he separated himself, but said:” when God pleases to separate me…” Paul had not a hypersensitive interest in his own character. So long as our eyes just only pay more attention to our holiness for a day, we can’t enter the truth of salvation for a day. Some servants of God almost went under badly. The main reason is that their wish only concern their own salvation, not God, because human nature is degenerate and nasty. We desire that God can let us escape away rough reality and we always look for our own the real need that God can help us do something and let us appreciate ourselves more. If we say these words, the gospel of God can’t touch us. We don’t sacrifice completely for God and don’t surrender God. If our interests only keep on a personal quality, God can’t save us. Paul forgot himself, gave up all without any concern and God separated him, the only purpose is to preach God’s gospel.
