Yes，I do！

加入英文俱乐部已经四个月，虽然加入之时就已经下定决心要开始练习说英语了，但是七八年没有张口说过英文的人，心中无限压力和抗拒！下文是加入中文俱乐部一年零两个月后、英文俱乐部四个月后做的第一篇英文破冰演讲！目标：站上舞台，突破自己不敢在公众面前讲英语的第一关！

Yes，I do！

My name is Carolyn. As you know, I am the president of AACTP TMC, but I don't like the introduction like this, do you know why? Yes, I’m afraid to losing face.You know , as a president of a club, we should be more stronger than member’s image. Although I have studied English for so many years, but I have given it back to my teacher.

I always think I should be an old member, but in fact, just one year. In 2013, my classmate told me: Hi，Carolyn, I found a club where can improve our English, and all the guys are friendly which can make you relax at there. She invited me so many times but I've only been there for three times. At that moment，the president of Xi’an Toastmaster club is Joy Tang and the Hi-tech club is Peter Hou. Why I didn't stick to it? Yes, just because I can’t speak English well, and am afraid to losing face.

Luckily, I stayed when I met it again, and you’re all here. One day, my classmate told me: Hi，Carolyn! There is a new club, maybe you can improve your communication in Chinese here, I know you like toastmasters very much.Then, I became a member of AACTP. Although I was still nervous until project 4, I found the most worthless thing is our face, and every member would never laugh at those who study hard in toastmasters.

Confidence isn’t walking into a room thinking you are better than everyone. It doesn’t have to compare yourself to anyone at all. Just be yourself, focus on your growth, you will find that there is no one else but yourself. And you will clearly know what you want to do and how to achieve the goal.

In last December, our Area Director Carol Fang asked me: Do you want to be the Election chair of the fortune club? I answered: Yes, I do! Although I finished both in Chinese and English, but I did it.

Last year，I learned that the District 88 was recruiting Pathways guide, so I signed up and read two English manuals in one day，finally I took the first place in our H Division. Although I still can't speak  English fluently, but I did it.

And today, I'm still nervous, but I did it.

When you doubt whether you want to do ，tell yourself: Yes, I do. Change is the sum of small efforts, repeated day in and day out. Never forget why you started. And treat our growth with our heart, we can become the best role model for our members.
