我心中就特别欢喜
那是我最快乐的节日
Every August 1
I feel very happy
It is my happiest festival
虽然我早退出现役
但我心中永远飘扬着军旗
Though I have been out of active service for long
The army flag is always flying in my heart

我心中就荡起涟漪
Every August 1
There arise ripples in my heart
火热的军营生活
是最美好的记忆
The hot life in the military camp
Is my best memory
虽然条件艰苦
但我却在奉献中
找到无穷乐趣
Although the conditions were hard
In dedication
I found endless pleasure
每逢八一
我就把革命先辈忆起
Every August 1
I remember our revolutionary ancestors
深深缅怀英烈丰功伟绩
化不朽精神为强劲动力
建设祖国让她更美丽
Deeply cherishing the memory of the heroes’ great achievements
Turning immortal spirit into strong power
We must build the motherland to make her more beautiful
每逢八一
我心中就默默敬礼
以此表达深深的敬意
Every August 1
I salute silently in my heart
As an expression of deep respect
决心继承先烈遗志
以实际行动慰藉先驱
Determined to carry on the unfulfilled wish of the martyrs
And comfort the pioneers with practical actions
